I was delayed a day when doing these five summits around Tyndrum by making a mistake of going up the wrong mountain. How I did that I still do not know and it has never happended before but I went up Beinn Dorain instead of Beinn a’ Chaistel. My built in GPS was completely screwed that morning! Anyway I finally set off to do one of the very few recognised Corbett multi-summit day trips to reach 5 Corbetts. The day was glorious with fantastic visibiliity. Beinn a’Chaistel was very steep on the angle I took to climb it but I was getting used to stupidly steep grassy ascents by now. The rest of the summits flowed easily after that with not too much climbing required. Another factor about the Corbetts that was becoming very obvious is that you do not meet many if any other walkers out on them. I did meet another walker / runner near Beinn Chaorach and we spend a very pleasant time discussing the virtues of doing the Corbetts. Like me he had compleated all the Munros and had done about 60 Corbetts when he lost interest in doing them all. The day finished with the very steep descent down to the railway line below Beinn Odhar to complete a very enjoyable day bagging 5 Corbetts.
