A very straightforward up and down trip in my fell running shoes to speed things up. Good tracks and a well maintained path helped the ascent and descent. The broad plateau of the hill gave the feeling of a big sky and the views were expansive but not dramatic. I missed the Queens well on the way up and so did not get the chance to throw in some coins for good luck. |

Starting point : Car park in Glen Clova CR 234761 |
The road along the bottom of Glen Clova was used to get access to this pair of Munros. Again well defined tracks and paths over gentle terrain helped a speedy bagging of these peaks. A quarry on the road just before the main car park was used as an alternative place to leave the car. The first section of the route winds it way up through forest plantations but the open hillside is soon reached along with the ascent to the bealach between the two peaks. Driesh was the first hill to be climbed with a return to the bealach and then an ascent of Mayar. The return was a pleasant jog to finish in good time. |
